This project was created to celebrate National Reconciliation Week, recognising and honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures through thoughtful, inclusive design. The goal was to create a piece that felt respectful, meaningful, and visually connected to the event’s spirit of unity and awareness.

Visual Storytelling
The design was built around a vibrant yet balanced composition that integrated traditional Aboriginal art elements with modern graphic design. Using colours, circular patterns, and organic flow, the layout symbolised connection, community, and the coming together of cultures.
Typography and hierarchy were kept clean and bold to reflect professionalism and respect while allowing the artwork to remain the emotional focus. The featured Indigenous artwork, “Come Together” by Glenny Naden, was incorporated carefully to ensure authenticity and acknowledgment, aligning the design with both cultural and corporate values.
The final design was used to promote The Buckner Group’s National Reconciliation Week Morning Tea event and achieved strong engagement and positive feedback, reinforcing the importance of thoughtful design in social and cultural initiatives.
This project reminded me how design can be more than visual communication - it can be a bridge for respect, inclusion, and awareness. Balancing brand identity with cultural sensitivity required empathy, research, and restraint, resulting in a design that not only informed but honoured.
